Can banks put travel ban in UAE?

Banks in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can put a UAE travel ban on an individual if they have an outstanding debt. Banks may also put a travel ban on an individual if they have failed to comply with the terms of a loan or other financial agreement. A travel ban can be imposed for any length of time, depending on the circumstances. If you are facing a travel ban due to an outstanding debt, it is important to contact your bank as soon as possible to discuss repayment options and negotiate a resolution. In some cases, banks may be willing to lift the travel ban if you are able to make payment arrangements that are agreeable to both parties.

Can I check travel ban in UAE with passport number?

Wirestork is a service that allows travelers to check if they are subject to any travel bans in the UAE. All one needs to do is enter their passport number and the system will search through various government databases to see if the traveler is on any travel ban lists. While this is a convenient service, it’s best to have at least two different forms of identification when traveling in the UAE. This includes having a copy of your visa page mentioning your UID and also a copy of your Emirates ID. This ensures that there are no data gaps and that Wirestork can accurately check for any potential travel bans. Having two forms of identification also helps speed up the process as Wirestork can quickly cross-reference both documents.

    How can i know if can travel to other GCC states while having an immigration ban in the UAE?

    Travel Ban extension to other GCC states is available with Standard Travel Ban Check plans of Wirestork.

    Less and till there has been an arrest and present order from  UAE courts for major financial crimes, you can travel to other GCC countries without fear.

    The UAE is signatory to the Riyadh Convention which has 18 state signatories, from across the Arab world (the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Somalia, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania and Yemen). The GCC Convention, by contrast, is limited to just the six members of the GCC: the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait.

    Article 1 of the GCC Convention states that “each of the GCC countries shall execute the final judgments issued by the courts of any member state in civil, commercial and administrative cases…”.

    In order for a judgment to be enforceable, the originating court must have had jurisdiction in accordance with the definition in the Convention. The various jurisdictional gateways are set out in Article 4 and are as follows:

    1. domicile or residence of the defendant in the jurisdiction;
    2. disputes relating to the activity of a branch in the jurisdiction;
    3. disputes about the performance of a contract which took place or should have taken place in the jurisdiction;
    4. disputes about acts which occurred in the jurisdiction;
    5. the existence of a jurisdiction agreement; and
    6. submission to the jurisdiction by defending the action.

    It’s always advisable to check on the current status of legal filings in the UAE using the Travel ban option on wirestork.com menu.
